The Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department (JFRD) serves about 950,000 residents in an area covering 918 square miles. The department employs approximately 1,800 personnel.
JFRD's budget for Fiscal Year 2022 is approximately $356 million.
There are five divisions:
JFRD has 65 fire stations, 65 engine companies,65 rescue units and 15 ladder trucks. All of this apparatus contains advanced lifesaving equipment.
JFRD responded to approximately 176,000 calls for service in 2022.
