Divisions

Rescue Division
The Rescue Division provides quality pre-hospital medical care and assists in the suppression of fire and containment of hazardous materials incidents.

Training Division
The Training Division provides thousands of hours of training and education, safety/fitness management, as well as research and evaluation services for all JFRD divisions and outside agencies. In 2017, the Training Division not only provided continuous education requirements, but also taught five classes of JFRD's recruit firefighters. In early 2018, training personnel taught 91 recruits who were part of JFRD's largest, single class in modern history.

Fire Prevention Division
The Fire Prevention Division conducts safety inspections on commercial properties, issues fire permits, reviews building plans and offers fire safety education programs.

Emergency Preparedness Division
The Emergency Preparedness Division confronts potential and immediate disasters and city-wide emergencies such as hurricanes, tornadoes, flooding and terrorism through planning and preparations designed to save lives and minimize damage.

Operations Division
Fire Operations, JFRD's largest division, saves lives and protects property 24 hours a day, seven days a week by responding to fires, accidents and other emergencies. In addition to fire combat companies, this division includes hazardous materials and special operations teams.
